  1. Putting data files on Dropbox would be affected in there is a network or internet failure I would assume.  Are you speaking of the DB folder on the PC?

The what is the best way to get my intern which is out of state my user library that is constantly having items added so we remain sync'ed up.  Usually she can get the library but will be missing tons of the texture files.   Usually tiles that I have imported

  2. I want to make sure I have the best set up for Chief.  My PC consists of three separate drives. C & D drives (both HHD) were stock when purchased,  I added a 1 TB SSD which is "S" drive.  I have folder / file locations on different drives. I do save any working project plan files and layout in the same directory.  I've attached screen shots of the locations of my X-9 Folders and would appreciate any input.   I want to also make it as easy as possible to copy and paste data from my PC to either my laptop or to one of my interns (out of state) that has CA and works on plans for school and me.  Going to my laptop would be either over WiFi network or a flash drive.  My intern laptop would either be a large data transfer service or via Dropbox.   See attached.   Thanks for any input.  Rob

  3. Ive been working in a plan all morning and all of a sudden the library wont open.  This has never happened. When I click the Library icon there is a check mark that appears but nothing opens. (See attached)  Same goes for when I select View - Library Browser or Ctrl L. This is in all views.  However if I open a symbol and go to materials the library will open.  Anyone else have this issue.  Thanks  Rob

  4. Does anyone know if there is a shortcut to rotate the angle of a texture such as wood grains, flooring, etc. without opening the item, edit texture and enter the angle in the DBX.  Wasn't sure if X9 had a point and click feature to rotate textures.  Thanks

I'm guessing the reason for the mouse zoom is because of 3D>Camera View Options>Perspective Crop Mode.

Turn it on and it will zoom like it used to in X7.  If it's turned off, it will physically move the camera forward and backwards.

Thanks.  That fixed it.     Everyone here helped great!!!!!!!!!!

Rob,   As others have already said you have a rogue item that is messing up your camera view and function.  Fortunately you provided screen shots and it is appearing in the first one.  Identify the item and delete it or recover and move back to the building site.

Buddy you nailed it.  Their was a very small PS in that location. My intern did the as built and I have no idea how that got down there.  Very sharp eye!!!!

  7. Im having camera issues... Maybe others have seen it and its just a setting

1.. Ive got an issue with using ortho camera views. In plan view the full plan is centered on the screen but when i use an ortho view the overview of the house shows up as small as a postage stamp either in the upper left corner or at the very top of the screen in the center.  Then when I try to zoom in, I can get about half way zoomed in to a full plan enlargement. With each turn of the mouse scroll wheel it probably zooms in 50' ???  but at that point zooming with either the mouse wheel or the  + / - icons the zoom become extremely slow. Not sure but for each click of the mouse wheel it may zoom in 2' ( exactly sure this is just an example) It would take 100's of mouse wheel turns to even get close.  (See attached screen prints to see what it looks like when the ortho cameras openand when the zooming slows to a crawl)

    2. Plan view camera.  I can get a camera view of a particular room, however,  when I want to zoom in on an object, with just a few mouse turns it will take me completely out of that room  all the way to the outside of the entire house. (see attached before and after zooming screen prints showing before and after zoom)

I have these same issues with two different mice and on both desktop and laptop.

    Anybody else have this???

    Thank you

  8. OK thanks. See the attached.  Am i looking at the correct file?  If so, when deleted, when X-9 is opened, it will migrate again so the user user database in X-8 needs to cleaned up and be what I want

  9. I might have answered my own question. I didn't know X-9 would do this now, once I loaded X-9 it automatically migrated the libraries from X-8 including my old X-8 user library. However, I had a newer "cleaned up" copy of my used library that I had exported from my desktop yesterday to a flash drive.  What's the best way to replace the migrated user library with my updated copy on the flash?  I'm asking because I don't want to get a double user library like a previous time.
