    Your method may have done the trick, it looks like it's working. Wait, what's the pool symbol?

    If you don' t have the pool symbol in your library files, you can probably find something in the 3D on line warehouse.

    Changing heights of Retaining Walls

    I don't have the answer off-hand. IF it is not locked on a layer (which we wouldn't know) without having the plan file to open and look at the RW to see if we get the same results you're getting, by not being able to select the wall?  I've done a few retaining walls and haven't had any issue with them. I'm sure one of the real guru's will chime in shortly, Steve Nestor might even make a video to help?

    Kirk, I don't see the software version you're using in your signature, but if you would just go to your profile and left click and go to settings, then in the lower left of the screen a menu will open scroll down to signature and update it.   Also it is a good idea to include your hardware info and post your plan, so the responders wont' have to guess at a fix.  TO post the plan be sure to close and save it. Then add the file by dragging into the response or by choosing the file from your saved plans. You might open your layer set that has the wall on it and make sure you don't have terrain features or retaining walls locked.

    Anyone else go back to not using “saved plan views” anymore?

    David, I don't think so?  I thought I was doing it the way it was intended, for example, first floor plan architectural, in that anno set I had layers I needed turned on, and annosets set up for the Cad details, notes, dimensions, elements that I wanted turned on for that particular plan. After having saved a number of different views as I sent them to layout, I had to continually make corrections from layout page to layout page, anyway; I'll see what happens next.

    It's been months since I tried it and it's been almost that long since my last project.  I'm generally using the soft ware for my Day job when they need me to do a Design Build. I was told I may have another one coming up, and perhaps if I can figure the SPV process out, I will try your suggestion?

    Unfortunately, it appears from the many comments on this forum that SPV's are nothing more than glorified Anno Sets.  I realize this view is inaccurate...but, I sense this is the prevailing view of many users.  

    I agree 100%, as a user of CA X11 and intending to renew my SSA again this year, I am not currently using the software as a source of income, (might one day If I can ever retire) and that being said, SPV's I'm sure are a real productivity tool, and since most of us set up Layers sets with corresponding annotation sets, it seems it would be a simple move to just start using SPV's, but I've found it for me too complicated to learn the proper way to use them, to take advantage of SPV's.  The only feeble attempt I made and trying them on a project screwed up my Layouts so, that I just went back to the way I've been working, instead of figuring out what I was doing wrong.

    library concrete stairs

    Watch this video, then  believe you can place your stairs using the stair tools and edit their materials etc. to have the concrete stair you are after. if you don't want the risers to be sloped, you can just change the materials to concrete after you've placed them and have the size (width, height, treads and risers) as you need it. Hope this helps.

    Muntins tool icon

    You have to draw the lines / arcs etc., of the muntins you wish to create, then group select all  lines  click make CAD Block edit button, then reselect the door or window you drew the lines / arcs on to create the custom muntins, you should then get the Load Muntins edit tool to convert the CAD block into custom muntins. Remember if you window has more than one sash (like a double hung) you have to create a cad block for each pane.

    I don't usually have that problem unless I move or add a wall. When you're drawing the wall, with left mouse key down press tab, which will open the dimension for the wall, input the 26' there. Then select ok.  Before drawing any further select the wall again if you have temp dimensions turned on you should see the dimension and it shouldn't have changed. Not sure what else could cause it. You could post your plan and we could see if it happens when we open the wall dbx?

    Newell, take a look at this see if it is close to what you're after.  I had to stop as duty calls so I'm not sure it is fixed. I made the invisible wall 4", went to second floor drew a new wall as an attic wall. I opened the porch room and added the flat ceiling. Don't think I changed anything else. Results attached. I had to move the wall you used on each end to define the slab to align with the gable. You can fix that ok. I just took a quick shot at it.

    Pony Wall - Materials Defect Issue

    I was told the temporary solution is to not edit walls in the library...

     

    Hopefully they get it fixed soon.  

    Steve, that's curious though? You have the problem when you edit the walls in library, and I'm pretty sure I did the same exact same you did, but when I edited the wall in the library, didn't have the same results? Can't wait to find out what Chief TS comes back with.

    Steve, you know I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, I followed your video (I'm pretty sure) modeled the pony wall same as you saved it to my library drew the plan, looked good. Selected the wall in my library, right clicked opened object changed the cap to bright white, drew 4 new walls they look just fine????? It is a curiosity for sure!

    Emma, I did a home in X9 that I had a rock wall below and wood sided wall above and needed a drip cap.  I made my from a poly line solid, set the material as concrete (you can set the material to whatever you want.  I watched several of the Training videos (how to use the P solid and also to make your own moldings).
