  1. Bob,

    I am a little unclear.

Are you trying to get your toolbar back to normal and out of Space Planning Configuration?

If so, click the Default Configuration icon on the toolbar.

Or, right click on a blank toolbar space...Toolbar Configurations...Default Configuration.

Toggling the room boxes doesn't change the toolbar, it just toggles the display of room boxes on and off!

    SIMPLE enough! Thanks Glenn

  2. Dealing with two differing ceiling heights where the exterior walls of the two major room intersections creates a gap in the taller exterior wall. I know I've seen this time and again, in HD Pro fixed it with a shape or something, or where the attic existed was able to manually drawing in the missing piece.

Since there is theoretically no attic at this point, I am unable to fix it easily. Didn't think in this "EXTREMELY" expensive CA X6 that would be necessary, so surely it is an easy fix and I just simply am overlooking it in the KB or elsewhere?

  3. Bob:

    try the free Texture Studio

I understand it can help make them seamless

    Lew

Lew, attempted to find Texture Studio, but what I keep coming up with is not free. You have a web address for them? I am preparing a schematic for them to do their first review (tonight) hopefully.

    Thanks!

  4. Thanks Lew, I'll see if that works. BTW, I went back in to the define the mat'l/texture, and stretch to fit was checked again, although I had unchecked it and click ok on each of the screens coming out of the edit, then I took another elevation shot of the same area now it's all screwed up. Maybe a video card thing?

Maybe I'd be better off using SOFFITS and applying the material to that?!?!?

  5. I guess I have given myself a right to a pat on MY back. I kept searching key words in the X6 help files, and finally tried "screen capture" which then opened up the help that "FULLY" explained how to use the tool and what to do to get the results I needed!

Now the only problem is how to make the finished result look more like the real think. I un-checked the stretch to fit, option, but how to make it seamless, which I assume will make it look more like the real thing instead of a "rubber stamped" repeat pattern?

  6. I have been asked by the client if I can use his PDF topo  to be able to add drives, existing trees he wants to keep, and site the new home as it relates to an existing home, and other existing features such as a boat dock etc. The entire site is close to 10 acres, the topo is quite large. I don't have access to a gps of the site area, I do have the USGS of the area but can't seem to figure out if I can / or how I could use it to any advantage.

In order for me to create a terrain of the entire area using the survey data I have to zoom way out, then the info is completely unusable. What would you experts do / or have done, if you faced / have faced the same issues?

    Thanks!

  7. I usually don't have any issue with creating a new material (HD PRO software), however; using X6 attempted to create the stone veneer that I am required to use on this project, from their selection, using the computer generated swatch from the web-site I attempted cut and paste but that didn't work (???) then capture saved to file, but the highlighted snip changed the color and it doesn't look at all like the original swat the owner sent me. The KB-http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00767/ doesn't explain the best way to make a more realistic copy of the material I want to use.

  8. Yusuf, looks very close to what I will need. With my in-experience with the X6 software, I will most likely need to work "after-hours" to figure out how to do it. I will probably have one barrel vault, the remaining regular/cathedral vault.

  9. Looking into purchasing CA premier and although I have used CA Pro software for a while, am not "expert" at it and upgrading to X5 will certainly be a greater learning curve. I realize modeling the arched beam in the attached picture will be difficult at best, I was curious if once I have modeled it, can it be saved and used for example on the interior in a large room that is supposed to resemble post and beam construction.
