  1. yes. i am trying to figure it out. watching your video over and over again to understand and work it
  2. But the only difference was I was drawing just polyline for exterior (this is basically for a plot plan drawling) Let me try if this works
  3. Thanks Robert. That's exactly what I was trying to achieve it.
  4. Robert, I tried all that several times. see attached image. Interior line still displays. I dont know why
  5. Thats what I dont get it. Yes it is inheriting the line style setting of the outer line. Could you please guide me?
  6. Thanks Robert, I tried that. But the inside polyline remains there, which I dont want to see
  7. Joey, thanks for all your help. But I could not achieve that. I selected the outside polyline used the fill style pattern. But how did you created the hole without displaying the interior lines. Thats where I am struggling with. Could you please explain. Sorry to bother you, I am not an expert in CA.
  8. Thanks Joey, what I did is selected the exterior polyline and used the fill style in the pattern type as hatch, angle, then drew another polyline inside to make a hole. Is that how it should be done? or did I do anything wrong? Appreciate your help
  9. it is in invisible line type, tried to change it to white. still it is showing up
  10. Thank you all, again I dont want to see the inside polyline. I tried to cut a hole, I used polyline subtraction. with all these steps I still get a line inside which I dont need. Any help?. See the attached image
  11. Robert, thanks for your reply. But if you look into my attachment hatching is not covered the whole area. I need only near the inside perimeter of the outline
  12. Hi, Is it possible to hatch like shown in the attached image in CA? How do I achieve that in CA?
  13. Thanks Eric that worked, As usual you are always first to respond with the quick solution. Thank you much appriciated
  14. Hello, I had my walls layer displayed properly before. I imported defaulted setting from another plan since then when I draw a wall it does not display the wall layers. How do I re-instate that to see all the wall layers? Where is the settings for that?
  15. Thank you Joe. That's what I thought so. Anyways its clear now. Enter project information in layout file
  16. Yes, I understand but the client information would not change right? It could be different versions of the plan right?
  17. I found out that I have to fill the information in the layout file as well. I don't understand why.
  18. Thanks Eric for your response. I dont have multiple plans connected to single layout. More over there is no option which I should refer to.
  19. If I enter the project information in the plan file, why that information can not be populated in the layout file for the title block when I use the macro to fill the information.? Isn't it the same data base?
  20. Thank you Davis for your response. To clarify your questions. What I meant was, lets say if I had send a plan to a layout sheet at 1/4" scale, all my text and dimensions are based on 1/4" scale set. Then I realize my plan does not fit in my layout sheet then I rescale in my layout with available option to lets say 3/16". Then would my text and dimensions from the plan which had the original 1/4" scale factor would change to suit the new scale factor of 3/16". If it does then its fine . If i am wrong correct me. If not then do I need to go back to my plan to adjust the text and dimension to the new 3/16" layout scale factor? Please clarify.
  21. Thank you David for all the video links. Let me watch and study. I hope this will help me to understand the concept. Have a great day
  22. Mike, I tried that, but it would not help me to find out what scale I should be using for my layout
  23. MIke thanks for your reply. My question regarding the text scale factor. I know other than the text everything is drawn in 1:1 scale. I think I should send the drawing to the layout sheet to determine the scale factor and do the dimensions and text according to the scale. I know that I can rescale the layout view. That was my doubt how the text will adjust to the rescaled layout view.
