I am not convinced the SCREEN GRAB is the best method.  I take a screen shot of both a MAC map and a GOOGLE MAPS map,  and then put into layout and it is not super clear.

lLately I have been PRINTING a PDF from the two map apps.....  not sure if that is the best either.

For some reason mine always appear muddled.

When I see this on a PC,  it looks much better.

Sometimes the plan checkers complain and I need to overlay CAD on the screen shot.

Point is I use the screen grab and the print to PDF and then import and neither system seems super good to me.

I am drawing a lot of these elevations with angled or "sloped" walls, like in the pic below.  Im drawing them with a polyline solid.  The problem is that the framers are framing them out because they aren't showing up as actual walls on the plans. Do anyone know of a way to draw an angled wall that looks like this?  Thanks in advance for the help!

My suggestion is old school. put a detail bubble on the plan & show a framing hand drawin framing elevation on the plan as a detrail or mark it as a detail and show it on your detail sheet. Chief dfoes not pay much attention tho these short commings

I think you mean Top of Wall Plate and Rough Ceiling are the same thing...   Typically  that is probable right, but I usually use Top of Plate as well

Depends on construction I usually use strapping theen apply the ceiling makes for a more uniform ceiling.

Not sure if this was an issue in X11, but in X12, I added "FIELD VERIFY" to Trailing Text under Segments and it also added "FIELD VERIFY" into the extension next to the elevation.  Fortunately, in this case, that is fine, but maybe an issue in the future.

The framer does not care about ceiling height but instead top of stud wall.

  5. It is programmer's having way to much time on their hands. I think we need more commercial type stuff. for those of us who do contempory houses and small commercial projects

Sometimes it seems like we all have a gripe about a feature or a feature limit that seems so petty but small changes can make such a huge difference in work flow and the ability to move through a plan just that little bit faster. A (again) small example is the ability to turn off a back splash with a check box instead of changing the value to zero - small, but huge regarding work flow.

Just now I went to edit a plan view and instead of the old 'Open Object' option (which is so software engineer speak) it now says Edit View. Seems really small again but it makes a difference and all of the small changes just speed work flow that much more. Appreciated Chief guys!

    Any others you've noticed?
