You could try to run with the cover off to see if it's getting enough air, if it's getting too hot.

Can't remember the last time a computer I built

had the cover put on it. BTW, having the cover

off doesn't always result in cooler operation. ;)

There is a Wine Barrel in the Irrigation Library , you should be able to drop a sink in....

Of course there is. Gotta love Chief's library structure.

Where else would one look for a wine cask but in the

    Irrigation library?

  3. I bought the Vehicles bundle. I couldn't be happier. :)

If you are going to do believable exterior views you

need believable vehicles or your images will suffer.

The bundle includes 81 symbols for $37. That works

out to 45 cents per symbol. You get all manner of

cars from sedans to exotics. You also get trucks, RV's,

motorcycles, boats & trailers and even license plates

and burn out skid marks.  A small price to pay to add a

touch of realism to your renders.

...We are also trying to work with Nvidia to see if they can help us find a solution for this problem.  When we last spoke to them, they said they could not reproduce the problem.  Unfortunately, they were not actually using a 3000 series card on Windows 11 when they tried.

I find this totally incredible. I get it that there is a

shortage of 3000 series cards on the market, but

Nvidia doesn't have one to put in their test rig?

I am working on a remodel right now that the homeowner said they had the original plans for. I kid you not...pencil sketches on a 4 sheets of 8.5 x 11 graph paper. The house is about 20 years old, and that's what it was built from.

Sounds like you got the deluxe plan set Joey. :)

Pretty sure I posted this before, but when I got

my little slice of heaven here the sweet lady who

owned the property had started a complete redo

of the place without getting any permits. The

interior was gutted and there was no sign of any

plans. When I asked if there were any plans she

said "oh yes" and gave me this page (with a

    straight face). :o

But again that is my preference and I am wondering what peoples preferences are when viewing the two renders.

I can confirm that you are not losing your mind. :)

The X12 render is far superior to the X13 one.

  7. So I've been using my 4th string computer

out in the garage. It's an old machine with

a dual boot setup with Windows XP Pro &

Windows 7. It won't support Chief X13 but

X12 runs fine on it. Recently when I exit

the program I've been getting this annoying

APPCRASH error message after the program

closes. If I click on check online for a solution

the computer gurgles for awhile and then does

nothing. It's no big deal, just an additional click

to close the message but I'd like to get rid of it.

...Also the step from kitchen to the living room is 8". Code max. in California is 7-3/4". Not to get too picky but that is also an abrupt floor level change. Is there any reason not to make that 6"?

While we aren't being too picky, I must say

that those stools on the near end of the

island look pretty sketchy to me. :o

....It is also possible that you just need to update windows 10 as some of the older versions do not support a high enough Shader Model.

I'd bet against this one Chop. If you know a way

to keep Windows 10 from updating itself I would

love to hear it. Aside from being marooned on a

deserted island if you are connected to the web

you will be upgraded whether you like it or not.
