In Chief, the term symbol and 3d model is the same.

Attached is the symbol/model exported from Sku as .3ds.

As I have mentioned, the imported object is too small for you to see in plan view, ortho view tends to fill the screen that's why you can see it.

Adjust the size of the object from 1mm (0.001 m) to 2000 mm (2 m) (aspect ratio must be turned on)

You can't see the object because it is too small (1mm x 6mm x 5mm)

There were no 3d surfaces because there were no texture attached to the 3d object.  Click "Show Advance Options" then apply texture from the imported 3d or from your own texture collection.

Use it as your shutter, make necessary adjustments.

Good job on the textures. 3d grass looks great.

It's not the about the point or spot light. it's about the geometry, it's the symbol.

There is one light symbol that slows my rendering down to a crawl. it's one pendant light that I like putting on my kitchen scene...I forgot the name...

one of the greatest inventions since Al Gore invented the internet.

I have always wanted to use a third party software to enhance my renderings, too - and this time did it! I just combined the renderings of my garden design with the real pictures of the house. Not very professional, but it was still very helpful.

Try to play with image properties for contrast, brightness, intensity etc...

Good suggestions by Scott but instead of maybe 36" above ground make it at least 45.

I used to do this:

D, Just upload a picture, I tried looking if I could download the program to no avail. You may or you may not donate, it's free. I have not used it extensibly so don't know if there is a limit.

I found the site by googling "free bumpmap generator".

I used max-vray and Forest Pack by Itoo for realistic grass and plants. Chief's grass is plain texture, Applying bumps may not yield good results.

The best solution for now is find a wider grass texture.

This is still the best Lumion produced animation I've seen (no CA in their workflow).  Short clips, good transitions. the appearance that the subject is moving as well as the camera.
