I downloaded Corona Renderer over the weekend and have been getting some nice results. Nothing in the 59 SECOND RANGE..., but not bad for a free 3ds plug-in. Did a test with the south hampton kitchen and doesn't look bad. Haven't given up on vray yet. Although it does make me want to punt my computer some days.

    Nice Corona shots!

Corona will not be free anymore by March or April.

I am able to get similar results with Vray if I use vrayphysicalcamera but render time increases significantly.

This one took about 3 minutes.

  3. Thanks for the link. Seems like I learn something new everyday. Now where is that 2-3 minute render button?

    Here's a quick raytrace - 59 sec.

Try SolidRocks by Jerome -download the trial version. Mention my name if you are buying the plugin, you might get a discount. :)

  4. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Tuned down the focal blur. Still learning vray materials and lighting and trying to keep render times to about 20 min.

    Nice render.

There's a color correction button at the bottom of the vfp window in vray, http://help.chaosgroup.com/vray/help/maya/150R1/vfb_index.html

You can use it to adjust final render without going to a photo editor, much like the image properties in Chief.

PS. That scene and resolution can be rendered in about 2-3 minutes.
