Note Specification question

In the dbx. box for Type of note (attachment), is there a way to make the Note Type "stick" in the box? I made a new Note Type, and it shows in the "Type" dbx., but when I go out of the Note Specification dbx. and then open it back up to make a new note, the "Type" has changed to another note type. I then have to search all my different types of notes, find the one I've been using and put it back in the "Type" dbx. There must be a way to make it "stick" in the box till I want to change it.  I'm sure I'm missing something in my setup but I can't seem to figure it out.

The type of note that populates when you place a new note is governed by the Note Default in effect for the view. 

 

For example when I place a note while I'm in the Electrical Plan View, That note will have the "Electrical Notes" type. because the Electrical Saved Plan View has the "Electrical Notes Defaults" specified and the Electrical Notes Defaults is set to use the "Electrical Notes" Note type.
