ChiefKenE
Sometimes when I try to generate a Cross Section/Elevation from a floor plan the Orthographic camera does not generate the section/elevation. Has anyone else experienced this or can offer any solutions? Thanks, Ken
PitMan71
This sounds strange... i have never experienced that before. What version of CA are you using? Is it a particular plan that is doing it? 14 hours ago, ChiefKenE said: Orthographic camera does not generate the section/elevation I would also want to know what specifically do you mean by this? is nothing happening at all or is the camera view blank? Posting your plan might help..... You will need to zip it up.
DBCooper
Check to see if your plan is really far away from the origin (0,0). This is known to cause all kinds of strange problems. If so, then you can use "edit area' to move it back close to the origin. See if you have any "shark fins" or other objects that are shooting out into outer space when you create a 3d perspective view (not an overview). Sometimes when you have an object that shoots out, the camera view will be zoomed so far out, you can't actually see anything. When this happens, you need to find the object and remove it or figure out what is shooting out and fix it. Facia boards and moldings can sometimes do this when they have bad connections. If it's not one of those, you might need to post your plan (or contact tech support).
Solution ChiefKenE Posted Wednesday at 02:47 AM Author Solution Share Posted Wednesday at 02:47 AM Thank you all for your replies. Maybe I did not explain myself properly. What I meant to say was that after the Orthographic camera generated the view and I select "CAD detail from view" the detail does generate. The problem was that the plan was too far away from the origin. It is now resolved. Thanks again.
