Novaks
I've created L stairs from the basement to the main floor. I cannot figure out how to carry those floors to the next floor.
DBCooper Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM I think all you need to do is draw your stairs going from floor 1-2 the same as you drew your stairs going from 0-1. If you have the same ceiling heights, you might be able to use copy, change floors, and then paste hold position. If this doesn't help, then you will need to give us more info about what you want and what you are having problems with. This video might help as well: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/392/aligning-stairs-across-floors.html?playlist=
Novaks
I did try to copy the basement stairs (but the basement ceiling height is different) on to the first floor (so the stairs would go from the first to second floor) but all that did was paste stairs on top of the current stairs. I watched that video, but it didn't seem to help. I currently have L stairs from basement to floor 1. Trying to mirror those starts from floor 2 to 3 however the ceiling height is 1ft different. DBCooper
Not sure why the copy didn't work. You might want to post the plan so that someone can take a look at it. Since your ceiling heights are different, you stairs will probably be a different length so even if you are able to copy them, you will still have to modify them after the fact. Novaks
I'm not sure if I attached the plan correctly, I exported and attached it. Unless there is another way to post it? MK V3.dwg
SHCanada2
basement walls are usually furred and/or thicker, stairs next to outside basement walls generally will not copy in the correct place on higher floors without adjusting to wider stairs or different positions. I find the landings then start to do weird things when you try and adjust. point to point move is the best option I have found, once they are copied onto the next floor
