AdamEdgar
URL for Lysaght Dominion Cladding https://lysaght.com/profiles/dominion im using dominion 285 (ours is actually 290mm cover + 10mm gap = 300mm wide panels) The panels are 25mm cross section thickness We also use 15mm x 100mm steel battens underneath the exterior cladding (image 1 and 2) The wall cladding when installed is shown in image 3 Please note that vertical corners are not 300mm in width...they vary depending on the length of the Tiny Home Trailer (8.0m, 8.4m, 9m & 11m) For a 9m trailer, the vertical corners have a width for each side of the corner of 170mm + 10mm gap = 180mm Im trying to decide on the best way to represent these in default wall settings in Chief Also, i dont know if its possible to get Chief to automatically wrap the corners for us because there are some restrictions on the panel dimensions... the fabricators who make the vertical corner panels cannot have side widths less than about 80mm for each side of the vertical corners? (Turbocad section view of vertical corners for one of the trailers is below...with a little text mistake)
GeneDavis
Chief does not do 3D siding. It is a surface with a user-defined thickness and user-defined "texture" or surface imaging. Many of us here have discussed the board and batten pattern for vertical siding, which involves the use of the material region tool, but while that tool can both cut the planar surface of siding and project from it, it is rectilinear, in that you'll not be able to get that V-joint you want. Your metal panel has the same shape as V-joint wood paneling, so you should be trying to use one of those materials, edited for color and texture, to get the look you want. And you will be breaking your exterior walls each time you want to accent the vertical joint sections with horizontal joint sections.
