How to Create Different Roof Styles in One Job

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows or has advice on how to make different roof styles. For example, I am in the southwest, we have a lot of flat roofs, I do know now how to make a flat roof. But on more luxurious houses I am going for a Spanish/Mediterranean/Tuscan style house that I am trying to design; it has a mix of flat roofs and pitched, gable and hip, I will attach some images. So for example it the majority of the house is a parapet flat roof, but the living room and great room are tall ceilings that transition into a pitched gable roof. Along with, some other hip roofs just to add some curb appeal and different variations and dimension to the house. I have used chief architect for a long time, but lost touch with it, am trying out the trial version of the newest software before I buy it. Any advise and tips would be helpful, thanks.

If you want to stay with automatic roof, you can control individual roof planes through the wall specification. Does not always allow the level of customization that's needed, but greatly expands the ability to mix roof styles within auto roofs:

@PitMan71 I am not good at manual roofs I can never seem to get the walls right, is there a special trick, or is it just trial and error? Thank you for your reply.

@Chrisb222 I have tried that, I will play around with this method more and see if I can't get it to do what I want better. Thank you for your reply!
