Secluding4344
New user of Chief Architect Premier X17 here. I have floor joists lapping over an interior bearing wall. The lap is being generated correctly by marking the wall as Bearing, but I’m trying to control which joist overlaps the other. Currently, the joists originating from the north side of the bearing wall lap to the left of the joists originating from the south side. I’d like to reverse this so the north-side joists lap to the right, meaning the south-side joists sit on the opposite side of the lap. Is there a setting or method in Chief to control the lap direction / joist precedence over a bearing wall, or is the lap order based on floor direction, room definition, or wall orientation? I’m not trying to change span direction only which side of the lap each joist set occupies if that makes sense. Thanks! DBCooper Posted yesterday at 06:21 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:21 PM I couldn't figure out a way to do it automatically. I tried playing around with the framing reference marker but it didn't seem to make a difference. Might be something you need to submit a feature request for.
