Callout Text Size

Hi all,

Can anyone guide me on how to adjust my callout text size? When I am looking in the Working Plan View, the text is huge, but when I am in the Kitchens and Bath Plan View it's much smaller (screengrabs attached). I would like it to the be smaller size for all views. I have changed all the settings I can find that I think would even remotely do anything, but still haven't found the solution.

Thanks in advance!

The text used by the callout is controlled by the text style used by the layer it is on.

Go into the kitchen and bath view, select the camera.  Look at the ALDO (active layer display options).  It will tell you what layer the camera is using and what text style the layer is using.  Do the same thing in the working plan view.  If they are using different text styles, then the text will look different.  If you want them to look the same, you will need to set them to use the same text style.

It looks like you have turned off "automatic" for the callout size as well.  You might want to turn that back on because it looks pretty silly with the callout text outside of the callout.

To adjust the callout text size in Chief Architect, go to the view where the callout appears (like the Kitchen/Bath Plan), select the callout or camera, and check which layer it’s on. The text size is controlled by the text style assigned to that layer. If the text size looks different in other views, make sure both layers use the same text style. Also, ensure that “Automatic” sizing is turned onotherwise, the text may appear too large or positioned incorrectly.

While it looks like your issue was resolved, I'll just add that the callout text style can also be controlled individually by editing the "Main Text Style" panel of the callout specification dialog. A specific callout can be set to use text specified in the Layer setting, or another defined Text Style, or a Custom Text Style.

I typically do as DB suggested and set callouts to use the layer style, but this is also a handy option that works better in certain situations. Other settings can also be customized here:

On that note, camera callouts don't have all the same controls that normal callouts have.  Would be nice if they did though.

@LukeMathew12 I am going to assume that you are just a clanker.  If not, then I apologize for the mistake but it really doesn't make sense to make a post where you just repeat what has already been said.
