Wynsong
The architect I working with wants the door schedule to be numbered so that it numbers by door size regardless of the door swing. CA gives a different number to the same size door with a right or left swing. Is there any way to override the automatic numbering/grouping of doors in CA? Or eliminate using door swing to differentiate doors? Here's the door schedule she created. She insists that she wants the doors numbered by size and not by door swing. See the snap shot of her schedule.

See the snap shot of her schedule. Pretty unconventional door schedule in my opinion. Never seen one like it. Seems problematic to group doors with different swings and locations together. One good reason to schedule out doors individually and not group together (unlike windows) is doors very often have different hardware groups despite the door leaf / swing being same. Anyways, I get the sense the architect is very particular about this and may not be flexible. I'll defer to other forum users who have more schedule experience. They might be able to make it work. On the other hand, maybe you could propose a similar schedule that is close in appearance and information and maybe she'll accept it? Good luck! robdyck
This is relatively simple by using the automatic sorting function. Have you tried this function out?
PitMan71
I just did this and it worked. Edited October 9 by PitMan71
Wynsong
Thanks, Jim, I, too, find it unconventional and quite frankly not the way the builders would find useful. The solution I've come up with is to make my own door labels (box with text as a block) and turn off door, labels layer and create a door, labels 2 layer to turn on my own symbols. At least my name will not be on these plans!

Wynsong
JKEdmo and all, I have sent your feedback to the architect and that I agreed with you. There is an argument that should be persuasive. One argument was this is inconsistent with the window schedule which does number by opening right or left, etc. In fact, if you did the window schedule numbering without opening there would be nothing to tell you which swing for which location since the windows are shown closed. Having to go to the floor plan to figure out which swing goes where seems an unnecessary step which could lead to mistakes. Will let you know what I hear from the architect on this.
