EdwinB
Hello Currently using X17 with the latest patch. "Chief Architect Premier" When defining materials to a copied wall. The program crashes. 100% of the time I also have X16 and no issues there. Has anyone had problems making wall material changes with X17.? I have also submitted a ticket to Chief regarding this matter. Thank you very much for any insights. Running on PC Windows 11 with the latest update RTX 3090 With updated patch. DBCooper Posted yesterday at 04:49 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:49 AM I haven't seen any problems like this. Might be something to do with your system (maybe a graphics card or driver issue since working with materials is something that will pop in this case) or maybe it is something specific with either the wall types or materials you are using. In any case, sounds like working with tech support is the best thing.
Doug_N Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM I agree with DBC here, please post if tech support has a fix.
EdwinB Posted yesterday at 03:02 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:02 PM Thanks. I seem to have tracked down the problem to my video card RTX 3080. It seems that ANY view requiring Real time raytracing (I.E. wall materials) crashes the software. I tried it by rendering a quick house sample using Physically Based (Ray Trace) and it crashed. Using preferences and disabling GPU Ray Tracing solves the original wall problem, "But Now I cant use Real time raytracing" I'm wondering if my RTX is no longer supported in X17 Edwin
DBCooper
Maybe you are running into the same problems as some others with a new driver that nvidia put out?
EdwinB
Yes sir. I read the other RTX driver issue comments. It looks like the culprit. Glad it's just a driver issue. That solves this mystery at least.............
