Wall exterior layer under roof

New user here.

 

I watched a lot of videos and forums about walls and roofs, but this problem is beating me.

 

I have an exterior wall, with quite a thick exterior layer. If I build a roof (automatic or manual does not make a change), the exterior layer is not cut diagonally as it should, and I just can't fix that.

What am I doing wrong here?

If you have changed top or bottom wall heights you need to check these settings

These heights are on default. They are greyed out but checked.

One other possibility its not been changed to railing wall

I am not at the computer at the moment, I can't upload the file until later.

 

What I am trying to draw is a balcony, where the two sides are exterior walls and the front is a railing, like on the screenshot.

 

If not railing wall type, how do you suggest I should draw the front wall. Divider? Or invisible wall and draw the railing separately?

I was able to get this to work ok with a normal railing.  All except for the extra lines on the gable.  If you can't get it to work, you are going to need to post your plan like Mark suggested.
