Cadwork22
Quick question. I created the closed shape in the image, when converting to polyline, which option would I use to make a glass pane. I tried subtracting then adding glass however that didn't work either.
Hoff_Design
Once you create your polyline you then select "convert polyline" and make it a 3d solid. Give it the width, depth and height dimensions you want to see. then select your material painter and apply glass to it from the library. You can also select 'materials' and apply from there in the dialogue box.
Cadwork22
I think I'm missing something. I converted it to a 3d solid, I went to the material tab and selected a glass type, set the thickness at .125, however to no avail. Image is in the rendering program. Thank you. Hoff_Design
looks like your glass worked, now you need to create an opening to place it in....what if you applied a window and changed its parameters?
Cadwork22
Theres an option for a 3d solid hole in the polyline dropdown, do you know how to access this, I was also thinking glass walls with mullions.
Solution Hoff_Design Posted Sunday at 01:13 AM Solution Share Posted Sunday at 01:13 AM I wonder if you could create a room divider line for the walls you want glass, then create a polyline for the actual walls and draw in the shapes for the openings where you want the glass... Hoff_Design
You can modify the windows as well, by going into "shape" in the windows specification dailogue and play with the dimentions... then you can just work with normal walls...and windows. Once you have created a 3D solid, you can then draw your cad polyline on it then select the 'covert polyline' icon and choose "3dhole solid" and it will punch a hole in your 3D solid. DBCooper
Why not just use a fixed window and adjust the shape instead? All you really need to know is how high to raise the bottom on one side and drop the top on the other.

Cadwork22
I appreciate all the responses; I redid the project with 4 glass walls and steel framing. Probably going to tint everything.
