Sakuhano
I'm currently working on a decently large, detailed project, and both my perspective floor overview and .plan view are significantly slowed down by the sheer number of CAD objects. So, I was wondering if there was a way for me to turn off cad objects being rendered for my perspective floor overview and plan in all rooms except a certain one. That way I can work on the rooms one by one without being significantly slowed down. Thanks!
DBCooper
You could put everything in each room on different layers. Seems like a lot of work though. Might want to figure out if there is a better way to speed up your views. Since cad objects don't usually show up in camera views, I am guessing that you are using lots of symbols. If these were things that you imported, then maybe they have too many surfaces and you could then replace them with simpler ones. There are a lot of other things that can cause slow downs as well. This tech article has some things to look out for: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00521/troubleshooting-slowness-in-chief-architect-plans.html
Sakuhano
idk how to reduce my surfaces cause thats 100% my issue, i think its like 4.5 million right now, and I do need to have this basically 100% furnished so I'm not sure what to do. I also can't really replace them with simpler ones cause a lot of them are pretty niche things that dont have simpler equivalents
Joe_Carrick
Create layers for furniture_room_a, b, c, d, etc. Select all the furniture in a room. Set the layer for all those items to one of those layers. again, again, again Now you can select just the layers you want displayed or not. You might want a display layer set for each room so you can switch quickly. It might also help to know what your system specs are, especially what GPU
Sakuhano
How to make layers only work for only a certain room without not displaying every kind of that object. 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX 2.10 GHz 16 G RAM Windows 11-Home 64 Bit NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU Cheif Architect X16 Student

Layers work for everything. You need to layers that the only objects in those specific rooms are assigned to.
