decorators3
Hi I've been asked to create a new exterior facade for this A Frame stye building ( pics attached ) A frame section roof peak measures 34' high - length 42' - A frame width is 30' I have a few questions before I start - see if I'm on the right track -- 1. am I correct in creating an 8' standard building 2. add an annex 3. build the annex roof as a 12:12 with ridge height of 34' 4. roof overhand 36' 5. add slanted beams to the roof ends on the sides ( not sure how to do that but I'm sure there's a way) Just some direction is appreciated Many thanks Levina
javatom
I think the "slanted beams" you refer to would be the frieze board. It can be added under the roof specifications. You might think about using a P-solid instead. It appears to go past the edge of the roof all the way to the ground. Make sure your roof structure is set to 2x12 (wild guess). If it is set to something less, the floor framing will try to show outside of the roof. A-frames can take a little bit of manual adjustment to look right but your on the right track. I took time to help someone with a similar A-frame and extension a couple of years back. It's folks like Steve however who deserve the credit for posting the how-to videos.
