ChiefTesoroTX
(first question here ever, I've spent hours searching for an answer) I want to align studs on an exterior wall so that the first stud out from a corner is cemtered a specific distance from the corner (e.g. 18¼" out), with the rest of the studs 24" O. C. from the first. This is so that the exterior sheathing (a custom 4 × 4 Hardie + EZTrim design) has perfectly spaced studs for nails to hit. I'd rather not have to manually move every one of them. Is there a way to set this up and let the auto-framing take over? Basically something that would emulate "start auto-framing this wall here with this first stud exactly in this spot then do your automated thing 24" for the rest." Solution glennw Posted Friday at 10:59 PM Solution Share Posted Friday at 10:59 PM Have a look in help for Framing Reference Markers. The setting is in Wall Specification>Structure>Stud Layout
robdyck
One of the best things you could do is to always position your project so a major building corner is at 0,0 on the x /y coordinates. This helps in many walls and for many projects means you woudln't need to add a framing reference. Even better is to already have the framing reference marker positioned at 0,0 in your template plan and use it as a guide to start drawing walls. Then, if some condition requires the framing to be adjusted, the framing marker can be moved.
