timberhill
Hello, I am trying to figure out why the line weight change after sending a layout to PDF / print? I know this topic has been discussed before, but I am yet to resolve the issue for myself. I've been using Chief Architect for over a decade and updated to X16 two weeks ago, I haven't had this issue prior to then. I have read through past posts regarding this issue and have tried correcting it without success. It's very frustrating after putting time into making a layout and then it all changes when you go to print. This software cost too much to have such glitches. I attached images of a plan I am working on both before and after I send it to print, it might not look like much, but it looks absolutely terrible on paper. Alaskan_Son
Hard to know without seeing the actual file, but if I had to guess, I'd say you are probably seeing the line weights as you have them defined. You didn't see them prior to printing because you didn't have line weights turned on. Either toggle Line Weights or toggle Print Preview to see your line weights before printing. Gr8trim4u
Make sure you are using the chief pdf printer. Printing to Adobe has caused me issues in the past
VHampton
The line weights (in the layout viewport) probably need some refining. The defaults can be far too heavy. Edge Line Defaults should be less than the standard 18. Reduce to 16. Pattern Line Defaults work well anywhere between 7 to 10 and w/ a medium to dark grey line color. This should help. On a side... the shadow tool really helps give exterior elevations some depth.
