Bmaclaff
I am a low volume user of x12. Usually no more than a couple of residential plans a year. I currently have an older HP Spectre x360 with i7, 16G ram, 32in external monitor and CA works but slowly when rendering camera views etc. I'm upgrading and planning on 32G RAM and deciding between Intel IRIS ingegrated, Intel ARC discrete, or NVIDIA graphics. I'm sure that those are in order of increasing functionality, but there is a pretty big price jump for NVIDIA in smaller footprint laptops. Any advice? SHCanada2
CA has a "Recommended hardware" thread. I would suggest start there. The graphics card makes the largest difference for real time ray tracing(RTRT) for speed, but I do not remember if X12 had RTRT

Do you have a link for that thread? I've looked all over and don't see it. Thanks.
DBCooper
You should start here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html Personally, I would make sure you have something better than the minimum system requirements and if you are thinking about buying new hardware I would read this blog: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/blog/computer-for-design-and-gaming/
