K-Lynn
I just updated my Mac laptop to macOS Sequoia 15.2. When I opened chief it said please activate your software. I clicked activate with current key. Then the first image below came up saying chief is currently active on another computer. I went to my digital locker in chief and clicked 'make available'. The second image below popped up saying click ok to make available for use on a different computer. I hit cancel. I have only used my chief key on this one laptop with a monitor. Why is chief saying it is active on another computer and what should I do to continue working without disrupting my current projects?
Solution DBCooper Posted January 14 Solution Share Posted January 14 I think it's a problem with mac sequoia. I found this tech article when I searched for mac + license so maybe it will help: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03198/troubleshooting-license-authentication-issues-after-updating-to-macos-sequoia-15.html If you can't fix it, you are probably going to have to call tech support.
K-Lynn
Thank you! Turning the private wi-fi address to off took care of it.
TheDraw
I'm having the same problem on a 2022 MacBook Pro 14" with M1 processor, but I'm not using a wireless network...I have a wire connection. It started happening just after the last MacOS update.
CarrieS
Hi, Chief Architect has a program update available to resolve the activation issue introduced in Mac OS Sequoia (Mac OS version 15). This patch applies to Chief Architect X16 and Home Designer 2025 products. Prior to installing this update, you will first need to deactivate your software. After the patch is installed, the software will activate on your computer and resolve the activation issue caused by changing Wi-Fi networks. Please note that after the patch is installed, X16 and Home Designer 2025 will be using different identifiers than prior versions so if you switch between this version and an earlier version (like X15 or Home Designer 2024) you will need to deactivate. Patch Installation Instructions: Sign in to your Chief Architect Account: https://accounts.chiefarchitect.com/digital-locker Click on the "MAKE AVAILABLE" button under your product key. Click the "DOWNLOAD" link. Choose "Mac" then download and install the patch. If you have any questions about the process please contact our Technical Support team.
