ChiefUserKatie
Hello, does anyone know of a way to automate the plan display callout label for elevations? Ex; E1, E2, E3, E4, etc. Chief does this, but its rare that I get the order / amount of elevations needed correct on the first try. Some of my files have a lot of elevations; as I am creating a plan set I often have to go back and add an elevation / take one out & it throws off my order. Not a big deal to go back and change them manually, but there's more room for error when that happens. For example, say I have a plan set with E1-E20 elevations and then realize I need to add an elevation that would be E4.. I then have to go back to E4-E20 & manually add 1 to each of those numbers so they are now E5-E21. I like to keep the order neat so the order makes sense as you are looking at the actual elevations. Thank you in advance!
Solution robdyck Posted Wednesday at 07:23 PM Solution Share Posted Wednesday at 07:23 PM There is no way to auto-rename them. What I prefer to do in the instance you describe is to add the new elevation and name it E4.1...and so on. I simply don't have time to redo everything because of a single change and over the years I have learned to accept the function of the software rather to fight against it. Adaptation is key!
Joe_Carrick
Personally, I number each room's elevations beginning with 1,2,3,4 and name them in the Project Browser.
robdyck
For room / wall elevations, these can be automatically created in a logical order using the 'Create Room Elevation Views' tool.
