Chief11ham
Hi, I'm having difficulty when I manually enter a wall to resize it. For example, the width I enter (and require) is 28' yet the output is 28'3" Sorry Im a newer user and tried to search similar issues,
GeneDavis
Click, hold and drag, pause, don't release hold, press TAB, you can how release the click, enter your length in the d'box, click OK.
Chief11ham
Thank you Gene. I am able to get the correct lengths for individual exterior walls, it seem they somehow resize themselves as I attempt to draw the house box. I'm drawing nothing more simple than a rectangle. I get one of the parrell walls correct, then the perpendiculars change on their own. Normal, inexperience fumbles, but I thought CA would be a little more intuitive and easy to make a simple house box/rectangle. I guess we'll see if I can grasp it before I wave the white flag. Thanks again
DBCooper
Post a picture of what you have and then explain how you are "manually entering" the wall length (as in opening the dialog to specify the length or clicking on which one of the dimensions). Also, if you haven't already checked out the "quick start" video series, it might be worth your time: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/138/quick-start-video-series.html
Chief11ham
Thank you @DBcooper very help I re-reviewed the quickstart videos again and I was able to draw a successful rectangle w/ the correct dimentions I desired. In my initial attmepts I was trying to "Trace Over" and existing plan that I have used as a builder. It was frustrating. It was easier to not copy over and run the walls on a the "shell view." Another one of my challenges I'm thinking is that I'm using a MACbook......I have a feeling I should set up a larger monitor and use a mouse. Any feedback for the optimial setup to use the software in office?
Chief11ham
@DBcooper found your notes on another thread "Computer Rec for CA" - got it and will upgrade shortly. Current machine simply lacks enough power so I'm due.
