How to inset framing girts into the studs?

For an expensively-detailed garage/barn, siding is vertical WRC with knots, nickle-gap, and needs nailing on 16" centers.  I want to let in the 1x2 horizontal girts and then sheath over the flush framing, then do cedar-breather over zipwall then the siding.

 

Is this possible?  Clashing wall framing layers?  Pic shows the general arrangement, for which I placed the girts against (not into) the framing.

Gene,

You can't use horizontal framing to do that.

Although a bit more tedious, you can use the Wall Blocking tool.

You can only specify a single row of blocking automatically though (in Framing Defaults).

You can manually place more rows of blocking by opening the Wall Detail and drag across the wall with the Wall Blocking tool.

Or you can copy and paste, etc.
