leyi123 Posted May 6 Share Posted May 6 Hi all, Newbie here. I have a layout page for "floor plan shell view" and I would like to have wall schedule there as well. I was able to do that by turning on schedule for that view, and turn off schedule for other views. But now I want to have door and window schedules on another layout page, since they are quite big tables... I guess I can make an empty view and turn off everything else but schedules... but how do I distinguish different kinds of schedules to show/hide particulate kinds? (and I think I have this need down the road such as displaying electrical schedules on electrical view/layout page)... I saw a previous related thread about "putting it in CAD detail", but I am not sure how to do it and what does it mean though, please help!! M-Reed Posted May 6 Share Posted May 6 I approached this by selecting a drawing such as the main floorplan to generate all the schedules you will need in your plan set. Once generated, move them off to the side, out of the normal view in layout so as to not be seen. You can then select the schedules you desire and copy / paste them into other layout views. Just drag layout box border over enough so as to see schedules, copy / paste to page you desire, and reset border. No need to worry about turning off or on. The schedules will update automatically as they should. I like to use my windows / doors schedules in multiple views. This works well. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I saw another thread talking about this and it mentioned "put it in CAD detail" again... I am just curious anyone can shed lights on what is the process of that? In there, I created the schedule and put there, it seems to work I want to put some schedules on its own separate page. I still don't know a better way to put electrical schedule on electrical page, wall schedule on plan page though other than the solution from M-Reed..which I may just do (thanks!).. any other options? CAD Detail is typically the way to go, BUT if you really want to put schedules in specific views (and there definitely are valid reasons to do so), all you have to do is put the schedule on a different layer and turn that layer off in other views... Also, just as a side-note, you should familiarize yourself with the Project Browser for quickly accessing your various views (specifically CAD Details in this example). SHCanada2 Posted May 6 Share Posted May 6 One reason perhaps not to put schedules beside the floor plan, is it might impact the zoom to extents. I have them on a cad detail page which is on a layout page already linked to it. I tend to make things work without complexity. I like this as I can review all schedules in one place for editing. For example, I like to create a "shadow" effect around my schedule borders. With all schedules in place, I can copy paste this shadow over to each schedule and adjust to size. Also, it's eay to check content updates all in one view. I used the main floor plan as every schedule item is usually located in that view. Simple really and I am not wanting more layer use. Thats me. The real solution is for a setting when creating schedules to specify location and / or layer without having to manually adjust. Again, simplicity is key.
