msmith964
I have never been able to get vanity lights to look light actual lights. This is a perfect example. The bulb material is White Lighting. I have tried every level of lumens and if I go too bright it washes out the glass. If I go too low, it doesn't show at all. I also have lights set at each bulb at 200 lumens but they don't show up as individual lights in the bulbs. How do you do it?? I have attached a photo. It is a horrible rendering because of the lighting. I use PBR renders. FYI, I have turned off the back walls of the room so I can see the room. I am using CA Pro X15. I have attached the pic and the plan. Help! Thanks! proposed bath.zip
MarkMc
3 hours ago, msmith964 said: How do you do it?? Not sure what you want them to look like. I fiddled a bit guessing at that. Sometimes it's changing to spots, sometimes it's a mix of point and spot. Changing backdrop can help if it allows some added light without bringing in too much color. Adjusting materials is likely key. For most of these I lowered the changed the emissive of the light bulbs, also changed the shade material. I'm not sure which of those materials will come through but plan with a couple of lights included, hopefully I managed to include the materials (but was just messing around so not as careful as I should have been) Oh and FWIW what I got from your plan looked better than the image you posted before I did anything. Not sure why. Original Option on the bright side Emphasis on bulbs Changed backdrop and increase light from it Looks as if I have to post plan after this. ericepv
I agree with Mark, adjusting your shade material and emissive value are the key. I also like to add a light source to enhance the scene. I made the following changes to your plan: Changed shade material to Milk Glass (General material, Emissive set at 50) Changed all 3 lights from point to spot (tilt -90, intensity 200) Finally, I added a light source (point, intensity 200) positioned at the center of your fixture (set to a 72" elevation to minimize ceiling wash) and with 'Cast Shadows' switched on Here's what I got...
