pjames
I'm trying to have my stairs in my mat lists show the square footage of my flooring risers. Anyone have any ideas?

pjames
Thanks this helped a lot. To clarify I'm trying to have both my Stair Tread & Riser Material Area included in my material list for flooring. That macro worked great for the tread sq ft - any idea on how to calculate the riser material area? It would be nice to set it up in the component defaults for stairs this way whenever they're drawn it will include in the material list.
DBCooper
Maybe stair_section.width * stair_section.riser_height? Keep in mind that these calculations probably won't be very accurate for any stair with starter treads, flares, or curves. They also don't handle landings. Not sure if there are any better solutions though.

TeaTime
I was thinking about this last night -- I suppose depending on how specific you wanna get, you may consider (stair_section.width*stair_section.riser_height)-(stair_section.width*stair_section.tread_thickness)
