How do we Purge CAD Blocks from a symbol in the library

I just generated a ton of CAD blocks trying to work out a symbol and finally have the one I need. I notice when I open my symbol in my Library, all of the old CAD blocks are there. Where are these being stored? how do I purge these. They don't exist in plan

I have "Automatically Purge CAD Blocks" checked so it deletes all unused.  Otherwise you can use "Purge"

But this doesn’t seem to effect the item in the library which is somehow picking up CAD blocks that have been purged when “Open Symbol” is used in librwry

Not sure what you mean.  Do you have other symbols in the library that have the older CAD Blocks?

Maybe you should make a new copy of the Symbol and put it in the Library with just the CAD Block you want. 

Then delete the one with all the other CAD Blocks.
