Good morning. Working in X15 and on a remodel where we are opening up an existing stair to an adjacent room.
(Note that in screen shots below, the fine dashed red linework is demolition reference display plan as underlay)
So, I've got the stair up against a wall with a half-circle starter tread opposite as existing condition:
When I delete the stair wall, the second starter tread automatically pops into place:
I want to keep the stair to only have a starter tread on one side. Is this doable in X15? When I try the starter tread edit handles, it affects both sides.
Thanks again,
Jim

Good morning,
Trying to figure out why I have a second dashed line at the edge of my stair plan about 1/4" outside of the stair width itself. What controls this?
Also, the railing seems to align with this too. How can I get the railing to align with edge of stair?

Once again, thanks for your help.

From the help text for this DBX here is how the height reference is supposed to work.
The Top Height Reference values control what point on the staircase the Top Height value, below, describes.
Select Floor/Landing for the Top Height value to describe the height of the top tread plus the stated Riser Height.
Select Top Riser for the Top Height value to describe the height of the top riser. (I have copied this text and pasted it in the graphic as well.)
Except that doesn't work if Automatic Heights is checked. In fact, once OK is clicked the default goes back to Floor/Landing. Why is this? Is this just my installation or is this true for everyone?

I've searched the forum topics and training videos but can't find anything specific on this, so I'm requesting input on a few stair rail quandaries.
Per the attachment:
1, I'd like to stop my stair rail when it butts to the 2nd floor platform but still have balusters in the triangle space below the platform
2. The railing continues through the platform and will not allow the upper railing (shown in the camera views) to extend to the top of the stairs
3. I've used an invisible wall at the top of the stairs and there is a lone framing member displayed where a newel post should go. How can I get rid of the framing member and place a newel post?

What is the best way to get the wide(left) side of these curved stairs to go into the wall corner?
