Electromen
I bought my first PC in 1993 but switched to Mac in 2006. Because of Apple's recent lack of dedicated video cards and no RTRT, I bought a PC with NVIDIA 3080 ti with 12GB Vram. The transfer of files and software is going well. The new PC has a 2TB SSD, 2TB HDD and 6TB HDD. I was able to connect and share the PC to the Mac Pro using an Ethernet cable. This allowed transferring data directly without using any external drives. I have 1.4TB of video and almost 1TB of photos. Add years of CA drawings and the transfer is large. Here's how I connected the two machines for direct sharing.
Michael_Gia
Traitor! Kidding. Thanks as I’m sure this is always in the back of the mind of all of us Mac prisoners.
Electromen
I still have the Macs, 2017 Mac Pro, and 2019 MacBook Pro. Real Time Ray Tracing on the PC is fast, just a few seconds. 3D views are instantaneous.
Electromen
I thought a problem would be wireless casting from the PC to a 65" Sony TV when meeting clients. I used Apple Play on the Mac. The PC casts to the TV using a Roku.
para-CAD
I do WIN 11 at the desk but am migrating most things to a new 2021 MBP M1Max fully spec'd (except for 4TB vs 8TB SSD) There are subtle differences but I find both get the job done. The new 43" Dell is just shy of 1:1 ARCH D so it's cool to see the plans full-size. New tech is fun.
