Layout scale/scaling

I’ve spent hours trying to solve this. Ugh       helps to enlarge my image.

on any layout I use/create when I place a rich text box, it’s huge and I am unable to adjust size size of box tight to the text.

my attachment shows 2 similar text boxes. The small/tight is from pc, the other from Mac. The larger one show how I am unable to,get that text box tight to text.

I’ve compared as many settings as I can. I must be missing something.

Drawing size settings are same on both. Any thoughts?

thanks

If you drag the edges of the Box it will no longer honor the Auto Width and Auto Height Check boxes either.

Personally I try to do as much Annotation in Plan or Elevation, not in the Layout itself, I tend to look at Layout " as a way to

assemble a ConDoc PDF "

It looks like possibly the "text a" text box is set to typical plan defaults and other to layout defaults.

Take a look at the margin settings for each.

I did. Left and right set to Zero.

Does this additional info Help? I think it has something to do with scaling.   In plan view grid snaps and reference grid are set 1" and 12" respectively. They appear quite "small" on plan view and the same settings in default on layout view - though layout view on screen they appear 1" big.

I understand my zoom can affect relatively how large they "look" but relative to drawing they are huge. Also when I place text box, default size is about 1/4 of drawing page. Not behavior I had in past.

I know I can do most annotating in plan view, but this is greatly impacting my ability to work and place text/blocks on page zero 0 of layout.

If the text is layout text you can post the layout file and one of the experts may be able to figure it out for you.  It may possibly be related to the font but that would be a bit of a stretch unless it is corrupt or modified.
