I followed the instructions for creating this symbol from Chief Architect.  http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00797/

I know I am  close, but there is something wrong with the size.  Can anyone tell me what  I need to do to get the brick course to be the correct width?  I have attached a picture of what the molding symbol is giving me when I put it on a window casing.

You can vary the dimensions of the "Casing" but in terms of a separate "Sill" it comes in only at the size that you made the molding profile. In the case of a  "Lintel" those can be somewhat controlled by the "Height" input box for "Lintels" but the key where it is being set as casing is the "width" setting for casing in the Window Specification Dialog and the other input boxe for "Lintels", sills are preset relative to the size you made the original modling profile or object. I cannot tell from your posted image exactly what you did or what you intended though.

I have never used the methiod shown in your referenced help article, I like to use molding profiles that I then assign a material to. Chief almost always offers more than one way to arrive at an effect.

Here is a link to how I commonly do this:http: //www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?61664-brick-window-sill

Thanks for your reply, David.  You are my Chief Guru.  I have watched so many of your videos.  They have been so helpful in learning Chief.

What  I was trying to accomplish is a brick band around the window.  I will look at your link.

Still would like to learn how to do the brick course molding mentioned in the tutorial   http://www.chiefarch...icle/KB-00797/  I can see how it would make the brick band I need around windows so easily. You just go into the casing and select the brick molding you created as the material.  I followed the instructions exactly.  I even did it 3 times to make sure.  When I zoom into the window casing (attached in original post) I can see the brick and mortar is there, but it is so narrow it looks like stripes.  This image from the tutorial is the look I am trying to get.  Anyone else have a hint for me?
