don't see staircase in second floor

though in the staircase object it says that the staircase reaches next level , the stairs don't appear in the next level at all.

What should I do?

Even if I create the most simple straight staircase it reaches the next level but don't do the opening in the ceiling above. Why is that?

You need to click on the Stair and then select the "Auto Stairwell" icon on the "Edit Toolbar".  That will create the opening in the floor above.

Thanks @Joe_Carrick! This worked for me. Once you create the staircase, I was able to right click it and choose the "Auto Stairwell" option.

You can only see a stair on the floor below if you have an open below room (or stairwell).  You can either make this room using the "auto stairwell" tool or you can make it manually just using the railing tools and then mark the room as an open below.  I usually start with the auto stairwell tool and then manually adjust as needed.
