stop railing from making automatic columns to support small shed roof which will be supported by beam

Is there a setting that will stop this automatic column under a small shed roof that will be supported by the beam?   When post to beam wouldn't do it right I tried to do it with just a post to rail. It still gives me a double column here.  Is there a different way to do this and get it right?

There are several different things you can do.  First, you can specify the maximum distance between the newel posts in the railing specification dialog.  The default spacing is probably something like 8' and you can always set this to be a much larger value.  Second, you can better control the newel post locations by adding breaks to your railing walls.  The program will automatically place a newel post at any breaks or other intersections.  And lastly, if all else fails, you can simply remove all of the automatic posts by specifying "No Post" on the Rail Style panel.
