Help w/ Elevation Lines/Points- Suite 2019

Hey all. Complete Newbie here, first post. I'm in commercial interior construction and read prints all day long, BUT creating them is a different ball game. I purchased Suite 2019 to render some remodel/addition ideas on my home, as well, some ideas for a huge detached garage I have. I had no real troubles with the physical house build with the exception of the attached garage foundation and building a concrete set of steps to the front door.

My real issue is, and forgive me, I have very little civil/site plan knowledge, so my next paragraph may be confusing. My property is an rectangular acre that has several elevations, all of which slope from the front of the house, down to the back of the property. I do not need a professional survey done for what I'm trying to achieve; i just want to replicate what is currently there. All of the videos on here aren't really a help or I don't have the features because the video instructor is using premiere. When I search on other sites for help, I can't seem to find any help on this topic... Can anyone direct me to where I can learn about elevations and how they are inputted into CA Suite. I mean, I put an elevation line in at ground zero in front of my house and then the next thing, my yard is falling off the face of the earth...arghhh

TIA

You can merely take some measurements around the corners of your home or site and estimate the amount of drop in your lot and then apply those measured values to your virtual model's (.plan file) terrain plane to emulate your terrain. You then set the terrain plane object to the house model (using the Terrain Plane Dialog box - Building pad input box to adjust that relationship).

There are several training resources available to you free of charge in this matter: https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/search/?default_tab=support&q=terrian and videos: https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/search/?default_tab=video&q=terrain

this is one of the threads Eric was talking about , with a short Video.....assumes you have Elev. Regions in Suite? either way stay away from Points...

You need a minimum of 2 Elev. lines , eg 0" at front of property and -96" and the very rear for a 8' fall....  if you add a third line the software will join all 3 points ( in cross section) to "smooth it out" , but I'm not sure Suite has Cross Sections.....but this may help....
