Possible to add a framing type (LSL specifically)

Hi!  First time posting here!

Under General Options when editing a framing member, is it possible to add a new framing "type" to the list in Framing Specifications (see attached screen shot of the dialog)?   Specifically, I'd like to add LSL to the list.  I see the material texture has been added, but I can't for the life of me find a way to add the type!

Regards

   Ryan.

You can Leave the General Tab as Eng. Lumber and then on the Materials Tab change it to LSL

Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too :) ..............
See mine below in Blue for how to do that.

If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on by going to the Upper RH Corner of this Forum Window and Clicking on your Username and making sure Signature are enabled (green) and then Add your Own Sig. too :

Ok, that works - just some how vaguely dissatisfying:)

Not sure why they do it that way, I just remembered I had seen LSL somewhere but you can request a change in the Suggestion Forum though.

Maybe it changes how things report to the Materials List (ML) I am not sure ? changing the Material may only change it's "appearance" in renders, you can change the size of the texture file ( 25x25" standard) to make it look more like the real thing or even use a photo of the real thing and resize it, it what I did for the Microllam LVL Beams we use.

      Hello.

I am having issues with an exterior wall.
There seems to be a random base plate that is generating a few feet about the first floor level.
It appears that this plate may also be causing an issue up at the second floor where there is a hole in the exterior wall.
I try deleting the base plate, but I am not able to select.
How can I fix this so that the exterior wall generates properly.
      Any feedback is appreciated.
      Thank you kindly.

I'm having an issue where the framing members for a flat roof (1/4" slope) over a porch are not displaying correctly in the cross section. My default setting for rafter size and the specification in the roof plane dialogue for that roof plane are set to 5 1/2", but it always draws the cross section as a 2x4. If I select any of the framing members individually and open the dialogue box, it says it's 5 1/2". The trusses and framing for the rest of the house all come in correctly. Any quick thoughts come to mind?

also, Is it better to upload a screen shot showing the problem or the whole file on here?

Using X13. Have "framing default" checked for "Allow Automatic Balloon Framing"...but, as you can see in the picture below it's not working. I have auto framing walls turned on...experimented with the joist direction...didn't seem to have an effect.

I'm on a MAC...maybe this is a reason? Does anybody know if this new feature in X13 actually works?

      Thanks!

The lengths of framing members in schedules, i.e. rafters, joists, etc appear to be expressed in fractional inches by default.
Can that be changed to be expressed in feet and fractional inches.

I cannot seem to figure out how to make this exposed gable have the same shiplap siding on it that the house has. I built the patio piece by piece using framing members and added roof planes and ceiling planes then added the gable. Now II cannot figure out how to add siding.
