I am supposing it is in a contextual menu somewhere, but I've yet to run across it. I seem to be the only one asking about it so I suppose my not finding it is a testament to my Chief expertise. The intersect/join tool will then show up in the toolbar (unless you've messed around with customizing your tool bars). Fourth icon up from the bottom.
