johnny
I'm working on plans with a large gable fascia/barge, but Chief is clipping the end off to flatten it out where there is an intersection to the corresponding "eave" fascia. Here is an example.
kMoquin
Zero out the Gable Fascia on the Structure Tab Create the gable trim with a shadow board specified as "Gable Only" Barge Boards.plan

johnny
Worked like a charm - i can't thank you enough that was driving me crazy and i thought i might have to use p-solids.
BryceEngstrom
Thank Kevin. This has always bugged me too. While this is a big help, still bugs me how the whole fascia system works. I have never done gable fascia this deep that wasn't at least 1-1/2" thick, so I switched that. Still messy at the corner. Not really how things are typically built. Karl_B
That works, thanks. How would you run the facia past the gutter to hide the end cap of the gutter? And, when you use a 2nd shadow board the top one runs past the bottom.

country
I would also like to know if we can extend the barge board to cover the end of the gutter. It's a very standard detail but I haven't been able to find a way to show it.

Yeah, it's too bad rafter tails couldn't make that work. I tried it without success.
BryceEngstrom
Thanks for that. I was able to make it work now. What I learned was that the auto-framed barge rafter is labeled as sub fascia, and altering that doesn't work. You have to delete that and copy a regular rafter to be used as barge with a rafter tail.
country
Very nice! It will now look right in the renderings. Thanks.
