Rails and reveals for cabinets

Is it possible to adjust the rails and reveal independently ?  I design cabinets for a true custom cabinet shop , When we design build cabinets we adjust all of our reveals and the top rail height to fit the crown , as an example all of our rails are 1.75 on the face of the cabinet , we have a zero door reveal at the bottom , and a 1/4 reveal on the sides and top , we will adjust the top rail to allow for crown which could be 2.5" 3" what ever the crown size is indicate the the top rail size.  I would like to know if this can all be adjusted so I can create a side CAD detail to place on the final turn in drawings we prepare !!!

Attached is a reference picture ,, You can see that on the bottom there is no reveal which is a standard for the cabinets my shop build , on the sides there is a slight reveal , maybe a 1/4" , what I would like to know is how to get a smaller door overlay on the top rail of the cabinet , because we can adjust thing being a custom shop that is where we leave a larger top rail for crown placement.

In a common scenario I hold a 42" high upper down one inch from the ceiling because a ceiling is never level.  then we make a cabinet with a larger top rail depending on the rise measurement of the crown.  some time I will use a 2 piece crown , meaning a small crown stop with a smaller crown molding and when combined looks great , especially is the ceiling is way off , the flex in the crown stop crown combo all but eliminates unsightly lines where the ceiling meets the crown.

With that long winded statement what I am trying to do is get the door to only have a 1/4 overlay to the top so the rail size can be adjusted for the correct crown.

Welcome aboard.

For what it sounds like you want you simply need to use traditional overlay construction (see the help, reference manual, or knowledge base)

In attached image all cabinets use traditional overlay.

The ones on the left are simplest and only require traditional overlay (36" cabinet, wide top rail, increased reveal)

Middle cabinets us a molding to extend tops up (36" cabinet extended top rail)

Two cabinets on the right use a custom door symbol. (36: cabinet extended top rail) This is the only advanced method) see post I made in tips section on "cabinet hacks" if you want to go that way. I don't explain it , only put examples that you can open. Open the symbols and cabinet DBXs to learn from.

Lastly not included here you can use "blank areas" to create reveals. I do that with cabinets that list a "0" reveal and usually "0" separation for the construction. Then all reveals and all separations are added manually. This is also advanced and will require a bit of trial and error to learn.

Going forward it's a good idea to fill out your signature with software version ans system information. Makes it easier to answer some questions.
