Crown Molding control

Does anyone know how to have more control over the crown molding?  I know we can use polylines for crown molding but if I want the crown molding on an entire floor and have it consistent but I just dont want it in the area show in the picture where the stairs and ceiling are open, how do we get it to miter and end nicely along the wall?  Of all the years since 2003 working with chief Ive never found out how to do this... Ive just avoided the crown molding all together or the plan just happened to be able to have it place just right.

You will need to create a Room molding Polyline    so that you can control that sort of thing.

 

But then again maybe not depending on where the miter goes?

Thanks for the replies.  Eric how did you get the molding to return like that?  whenever I have a molding conclude it usually shows the side or back of the molding?  Your picture looks fantastic!

Not sure what Eric did, but all you need to do is return the molding toward the wall.  Just drag an addition line segment and then reduce the length to something super small (.001" for example).
