RRU_Designs
I have a deck located below trusses that are cantilevered 6 ft beyond the exterior wall. I would like to make the deck larger than the area of ceiling/soffit formed by the bottom cord of the trusses, however whenever I extend the deck beyond the this area CA either extends the ceiling over the new deck area (i.e. beyond the fascia of the house or if I change the default settings for the deck CA deletes the bottom chord of the trusses. How can I make the deck larger but keep the ceiling area restricted to the area formed by the bottom chords of the trusses?
johnny
If I understand your question, then you simply need to divide the "room" (which is really a deck/balcony) at the point you want the change to occur using a room divider or invisible wall. Without seeing an illustration I am somewhat guessing as to the issue, but that is what I a read into your post. Once the room is divided you can set "no ceiling" in the portion of the deck you don't want a ceiling.
jcaffee
Or, use a custom Ceiling Plane.
ShaneK
Turn off auto build on your roofs. Go to room dbx/structure tab and uncheck ceiling.
