DBearss
Am sure this has been addressed but a search didn't turn up much. Am trying to design some exposed roof beam ends that will be cosmetic. I can select the beam tool and have changed default layer to roof trim and placed them. CA does a pretty good job getting close to the actual roof but they are all dropped somewhat. Whats worse I cannot edit any of them. Cannot select in any view. Any advice on how others have done this? regards,
DBearss
Yup layer was locked. Odd that there is no warning to tell you that are trying to select a locked item.
DBearss
So that gets back to part of the original question as to why the beam is dropped a few inches from the fascia.
rlackore
As Eric mentioned, the Framing Specification (Roof Beam) dbx gives you control of placement: If that doesn't work for you, you could use a polyline solid just as easily.
DRAWZILLA
I think Chief placed the outlookers at the bottom of the rafters you are using. You have to move them manually from there.
DBearss
Yup figured out to turn off Automatic height and unlock layer and was able to move freely. Thanks all 'till the next one ;-/
