  2. You can't. Refer to page 1171 of the Reference Manual: Importing and Exporting. Imported 3D data cannot be converted into "intelligent" Chief objects such as walls, windows, etc - it can only be converted into a Symbol (page 1189).

  3. You can use the End-to-End Dimension tool, and if you have Preferences>Edit>Snap Properties>Object Snaps>On Object checked, the tool should infer the perpendicular as you drag the dimension to the second line. This screenshot was while the tool was active, with the cursor hovering over the second line as I was placing the dimension; note the green On Object indicator is visible and a blue dotted line shows the inferred perpendicular:

  4. Here are the steps:

    1. File>New Plan.

    2. Insert the Architectural Block from your User Library into the new plan.

    3. Select the Architectural Block and Right Click>Explode Architectural Block.

    4. Open an Orthographic Full Overview.

    5. Tools>Symbol>Convert to Symbol. Select the appropriate options as you progress through the symbol creation dialog box. Be sure to save the Symbol to your User Library.

    6. Return to your existing house plan, and insert the Symbol on the floor you want it to display on. Select the Symbol and Right Click>Open Object>General>Size/Position.

  5. You show 3 displays: 1 & 2 are driven by the integrated Intel HD Graphics P530 chipset; 3 is driven by the discreet Nvidia Quadro M3000M. I wonder if this may be the source of your issues. I'm guessing you have a mobile workstation and the higher-end Quadro card only has a single port. Maybe unplug the Quadro monitor and see if the problem persists on the Intel displays, or vice-versa.

The best you can do is create many closely-spaced lights and adjust their illumination properties until you achieve a satisfactory result. You will have to compromise between rendering speed and appearance.

AFAIK, this is the only answer. There is no easy, automated solution - you simply have to bite the bullet and do the work.
