  1. That is correct Glenn. Select the view in Layout and click on Suppress Label or as you say -- turn off that layer. Alan
  2. Okay using the macro for the windows (%width%%height%%schedule_number%) I can get it to show the width, height, type, and schedule number okay (28 52 Double Hung W12) for a 32" x 62" window. However when I use the same macro for the door it shows 36 80 D15 for a 36" x 80" door but I need it to show 30 68 D15 the same dimension format as the windows. How can this be done? Thanks Alan
  3. Michael I submitted it to tech support. If I look at the room label it appears as if both the room name and size have rotated but are now on top of each other. Alan
  4. Joey That is good to know. Do they have a special address to email them to? Alan
  5. Thanks Michael I'll submit it. Strange that at one point it rotated okay. Alan
  6. Okay using the macro for the windows I can get it to show the width, height, type, and schedule number okay (28 52 Double Hung W12) for a 32" x 62" window. However when I use the same macro for the door it shows 36 80 D15 for a 36" x 80" door but I need it to show 30 68 D15 the same dimension format as the windows. Any idea how I can do that. Also the window label string gets too large so it would be nice to have the double hung to be just DH (as it does in the automatic label). Any idea how to do that. I'm not a macro expert so I was just using the item specific CA macros. Many thanks Alan
  7. Michael No I didn't I just had to get it to him as is. Here is the plan. I would really like to have the room labels rotate (I needed to rotate the plan view in Layout as it wouldn't fit to the paper) but not the door and window labels. Thanks Alan SPRINGFIELD 11.plan
  8. I need to get this to my contractor PDQ. Alan
  9. Okay I have the room labels not rotating but my door and window labels are now rotating and I don't know where to go to fix it. Alan
  10. Yes I did and it worked fine before. Alan
  11. Anyone know how to fix this (label is rotated with plan)? Thanks Alan
  12. I managed to get what I wanted with the macros. Alan
  13. Joe I read in the CA Knowledge Base that adding that macro will display size and type. I don't want the schedule callout -- just the size and type but it won't change-- keeps displaying callout. I even went into Defaults and changed all of them to %width%%height%%type_name% but it still shows the schedule callout. Alan
  14. I had my door and window labels to display their schedule number. Now I'm trying to use the macro to show height width and type (%height%%width%%type_name%) but it defaults to schedule number. How can I get it to show what the macro defines? Thanks Alan
  15. Great video Michael. Thanks for doing it. Alan
  16. Have you tried the Craftsman style? Or just create your own muntins using polyline solids. Alan
  17. Thanks it's good to know that the new ones are in the Featured area for a month. I'll check it regularly. Alan
  18. I have been using Apple products since the original iPhone came out and I purchased a Mac Pro shortly thereafter (2008) followed by a MacBook Air when they were released. Even though my Mac Pro is 8 years old it runs Chief just fine. I upgraded my video card to an nVidia GTX250 about four years ago and just recently added more Ram (I now have 10MB). I just love the way all my Apple products play nice with each other and I have an older USB2 DROBO that I use for Time Machine. The DROBO is great as it has 4 hot swappable hard drives and if one fails you just replace it and nothing is lost as it duplicates storage over several drives. I recently purchased a laptop PC as I like to play games and my GTX250 is not up to the task (in Boot Camp) and there are no more upgrades available but would never go back to a Windows machine. Just my 2 cents worth. Alan
  19. Is there a way to know when new catalog (bonus or manufacturers) content is available? Alan
  20. I know that I can set the room labels to rotate with the plan but how can I set them to rotate when I rotate the view in the Layout page? Thanks Alan Never mind -- I just un-ckecked Rotate with Plan in Default Settings.
  21. Thanks Eric. I'll look at how you did it as I think I'm almost there -- just need the gable over the entrance porch. Alan
  22. You don't need a template page -- just click on New Layout, save it, go to your the floor in your Plan and click on Print>Drawing Sheet Setup, set the paper size and scale. Then click on Send to Layout. From the Layout page click on Print then Print to PDF with the same paper size, save the PDF. Alan
  23. Couldn't find the X8 comparison but here's the X7 comparison -- should give you some idea. Alan http://cloud.homedesignersoftware.com/1/pdf/sales/x7-feature-matrix-hdpro2016.pdf BTW please don't use all capitals as it's the internet equivalent to shouting. Thanks
  24. Try sending the floor plan to a Layout and then print from there. Printing is normally not done from within a Plan. Alan
