The exteriors are fine, it's the interiors that are referencing surfaces and not centers despite centers being checked.

Good morning, I'm trying to find the handle on centering my dimensions on the interior walls. The exterior is working ok and I edited the defaults but my interior walls keep locating to surfaces. Is there an overriding instruction that is keeping the program from locating the wall centers for the interiors. Also I have tried this multiple times so my interior dimensions are generating multiple measurements. Do I close and reopen the plan to change this? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan

That works! thank you Eric, i guess I was grabbing the wrong handle...Cheers! I'll be going on to Plan Check and separating those layers prior to layout next.

I adjusted the planes, centered door and roof, all of this seems proper and the lines are all lined up. Is there something that confirms that they are properly joined? It all looks good inside and out but the program message still says cannot join... I'm also looking to trouble shoot this from basement to ridge and send to layout if anyone can help with this level of troubleshooting for service? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan

Thank you Eric, I'm not sure I can change those roof lines that dramatically without changing some of the structural components already researched. I was able to clean it up but keep getting error messages when trying to join the roof planes. "One of these roofs must be zero....or some such thing...

I corrected the pitch and the lines remain unchanged. Plan is attached. I'm also trying to figure out some ways of making this porch more attractive, I think it's too high but I don't want the facias to be mis-aligned? Humble chief was right, I'll be curious to see what that does to my framing.

Thank you, the question is that the right side has two lines and the left plane has one, I'm trying to figure out why. I suspect you are correct on the framing but I'm also always try to understand how these parameters are built in the program.

I have circles around my question spots....1. What is the extra line on this layover porch roof? The opposite side does not have it? Also when I added a railing to this porch, when I connected to the house wall the wall frame changed to a wall backer configuration but it only happened on one side? Do I have to correct the other side manually?

Thank you, that corrected a lot, now I just have to change some framing members that are showing up. I know I changed them at some point and now I'm trying to find how they were created, the deck rim joist for instance.

"Floor Above" is grayed out, next is "Ceiling: 100 1/16"

I found the framing layers, thank you, but I can't seem to move anything in the manner that I created it, I don't know if I moved it or locked it somehow and I'm trying to lower both decks for snow. The "Structure" says -6" but it's still at the same height...?

My deck is not generating in plan view but it shows up in the orthographic view? Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why this might occur?

Thank you Rob, my front steep pitches are a false overhang to mimic the appearance of a gambrel. I can make them touch but they don't want to join and the rake's are not a bisected angle.

hello everyone, happy quarentining, I'm working on bringing these roof lines together and I was wondering about how to get the rake trim to generate properly....
-
Thank you, that was part of it, the room was closed but the structure was turned invisible at some point. Still working on it and other things for this plan.

Hello all I'm working on a complex roof line and making steady progress. While I was adusting the railings of this deck I created I moved something, and did not notice that the deck disappeared. I've already drafted some other things that I don't want to loose and cannot figure out what is causing the deck to disappear... any thoughts? A secondary question is how to dictate wall heights by dimension? I'm trying to create a complex roof line and controlling height of certain walls will be helpful. HER.SAMP_3_30.2020.plan

Hello, Is there a catalog item that I can find a FEMA flood vent?

Why am I not able to select "Copy" I want to copy a window as I have done a thousand times before. Now my copy selection is not available in any menu....why and how do I restore it...

Thank you, I'm getting it dialed in now, MANY THANKS!

Ok, so I was able to find the handle on the actual schedule box, just no tool bar selections available yet.

Michael, My move up or down buttons are grayed out or un-selectable currently, I'm searching for the mechanism to enable them...

Let me catch up and state what my goal is. My goal is to place have my window schedule organized the way I want it organized. I wish to have the window at the bottom right side of my plan on the first floor be window number one and proceed clockwise around the building until I'm done with floor one and then proceed with the second or third floor. Is this possible in Chief? I do appreciate all the comments, I'm learning how the current set up operates. A bit confusing but little by little, brick by brick... The above sample is for a remodel with a lot going on so....more complicated than new construction. The point above is how to organize by floor and in the order that I prefer. Can this be done?
