  1. Not sure how to post an image directly but I will try, thank you for the tip.
  2. So, progress....the ridge's line up, the overhangs are even, however the frieze on the smaller portions are taller...not sure what is causing this or how to adjust it.... Bay window.pdf
  3. Bay window and garden window.... I was able to find a box/garden window component to import and now I'm off to building a bay window manually. The roofs are close but still difficult to connect properly. I can't select the baseline handle of the right side roof plane in plan view. Even when I select next object? 4. I'm trying to find instructions on making a Garden window or Box window. I have found a few different videos on Bay windows and am reading the reference book and I have the windows, the height and roof all on but I cannot get the window frames in the corners just yet. I would like to finish making it myself manually for the training but would also like to find an imported component if possible for future project.
  5. Still a wrinkle in the wall of this room over the garage. It seems to be created by a wall intersection on the other side but I can't quite understand how to correct it or what is controlling it. Walls_interior_and_out_1_14.20_3.45pm.plan
  6. My updated plan as of 3pm eastern Walls_interior_and_out_1_14.20.plan
  7. Thank you Rene, and yes, I'm doing all of the above. I am actually working with a number of people and learning all I can as quickly as I can. Finding the right resource at the right time is a bit of a challenge. I appreciate your feedback as I know there are a number of problems. For us newbies the diagnositics can be half or more of the battle. Also I am finding that I don't wish to settle for good enough ...I'm looking for definitive solutions whenever possible. Right now I'm reading and working on the wall intersections and snaps.
  8. Another sample picture, this one shows a drywall layer running through a wall intersection and a misalignment of walls. Atempts to realign the walls with the alignment tool bring up an error message that is weird in that it says "...cannot move walls due to alignment or something like that.
  9. It is definitely a wall issue and while I no longer have drywall showing outside I still have siding inside. One thing that has helped is trying to solve one issue at a time and being careful to go slower. This wall with siding on the inside is a pony wall.
  10. Finally getting to the bottom of the list of visible anomalies to my plan. Some of the nagging ones are the lines showing up in the siding that I have not figured out how to eliminate and a facia in a soffit dormer that does not match the other side. Thank you to all for the suggestions so far. Each suggestion has helped. Corrections 1.pdf
  11. Thank you all. Does anyone know how to get rid of the goofy trim under the soffits in this photo and why they were generated in the first place?
  12. ok, but how does one get the siding to generate above the roof and drywall on the underside? Ty
  13. Not exactly but I appreciate you , I'm really not a BAAaaad man, lol.... I just did that so I would not have to look at the exposed joist while I try to learn that method. I'm still trying to understand why certain things happen in Chief and how to perform self diagnostics. I've talked with many people that give up on the program because the solutions seem so difficult to come by. I'm using the program full time now so it's a little easier to build on daily solutions.
  14. Thank you, yes, I'm not sure how to manually edit a ceiling plane but I will try that. I was able to pull up the siding to cover the exposed joist. I'm also looking to fix the siding showing up on the interior portion of the house. Screeshots attached.
  15. Thank you, I'm going through it now... DBX? The living room over the garage has a ceiling and looks good for the moment. I have siding in that room now that I would like to correct and yes I do need to correct the missing spot in the siding. Why does this occur? My shed dormer is unbalance and I'll be working to correct that next.
  16. What would cause this interior condition? Rear_elevation_showing_connetor_roof_1.9.20.plan
  17. So then if that is the case, I might just need another HDMI and have a daisy chain type set up?
  18. I am running Chief 11 Primier on a laptop and additional larger monitor. I would like to run another monitor for having another large display. Is there an HDMI adapter that I might need in order to do this? Best buy is the nearest tech store unless I order something online. Does anyone have this type of set up? Laptop and two 32" monitors? The question is what type of splitter/adapter do I need and is it possible?
  19. Thank you, and Happy New Year! One thing I have noticed is that sometimes a room has no room definition and it's hard to determine what element is missing to provide that definition....thank you
  20. Hello, I created a new plan from an existing foundation and then made lots of little changes along the way. I deleted some auto generated attic walls and tried to build the roofs and I have a really unusual shape to the roof. Can anyone explain how that program would have generated something so unusual? CONTI_10_IRIS_12_30.19.plan
  21. Thank you all and especially kbird, as those types of little explanations help with understanding.
  22. I'm trying to steal some room in a garage. I'm having trouble getting the floor to place at the right height. The selection boxes have little open box wrench icons in them and I'm searching for what these mean and how to change this? I'm posting this screen shot while searching for the info. Thank you if anyone can point me where to look for the right info. Dormer study 12.27.19 10 am.zip
